The care givers

There are over 3 500 health science professionals within the Government of Canada who provide health care services to 1.3 million Canadians, including First Nations and Aboriginal Peoples, inmates of federal penitentiaries, members and veterans of the Canadian Forces and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and refugees. This year the campaign will be actively recruiting nurses and psychologists.

Federal health science professionals design, implement and evaluate federal programs such as mental health, child health, healthy living, injury prevention, emergency response and community medicine. The federal public service also offers opportunities in research, regulation of food and drug products, transportation safety and epidemiology.

The federal public service is committed to developing a skilled, diverse workforce that is representative of the public it serves.
