Some job opportunities may require that you write one or more tests. When testing is required, you will need to register on-line before the closing date of the job opportunity. Before you register for a test, it is important that you determine whether or not you have previous test results. If you think that you may have previous results for the tests required, please consult the Test Results section for further information.
If you do not have previous test results or if you wish to rewrite the test (provided that the waiting period has elapsed), you must register for a testing session. To register for a test, you must first apply for a job opportunity that requires testing. You must satisfy all of the requirements listed in the job advertisement; you will only be able to register for a test if you meet all of the requirements. If you meet all of the requirements, and submit your application, you will be taken to a screen that provides a summary of the job opportunities you have chosen that require testing.
Please review this information; note the date by which tests must be written and the type of tests required for each. Links are provided under the chart to:
To book a test, use the Book a Test feature and follow the remaining steps.
Note: If you require special accommodations for the testing process (e.g., provision of sign language interpreters, information in alternative formats, reader services, technical support and/or attendant services), please consult the section on Special Accommodations.
Note: The job opportunity has to be open in order to delete or modify a test registration.
Note: You cannot modify or delete a test registration if you have already submitted an application to a job opportunity requiring the test.
Each test site can accommodate a limited number of applicants. You must register beforehand if you wish to write a test. Applicants who have not registered for a particular test or test site will not be admitted.
The exact address of each test location can be found in Test Locations Across Canada. Please check this site before the actual test date to confirm the information. It is your responsibility to arrive on time and at the right location. Applicants who arrive late the day of the actual test exam will not be allowed to write the test.
A waiting period of 180 days must elapse before you can rewrite a test. Should you rewrite the test before the retest period has elapsed, your result will not be valid and a new retest period will be imposed from the new test date.
