The RAP provides opportunities to post-secondary students whose academic program requires supervised laboratory, field or general research. Students interested in carrying out research in addition to their academic requirements may also apply.

In order for a student to be re-employed into an FSWEP position, the student must ensure that they have an active application in the current FSWEP inventory.
While non-Canadians may apply to RAP, preference is given to Canadian citizens. A Canadian citizen is a person who possesses Canadian citizenship by birth or through the naturalization process under the Canadian Citizenship Act.
