Eligibility criteria
The RAP provides opportunities to post-secondary students whose academic program requires supervised laboratory, field or general research. Students interested in carrying out research in addition to their academic requirements may also apply.
To be considered for RAP positions, the student must:
- Be currently recognized as having full-time student status by the academic institution in which they are presently enrolled; and
- Be the minimum age to work in the province or territory where the job exists.
Re-employment
The PSC may authorize the re-employment of students into an FSWEP position in the same or another organization if the students:
- Were initially selected through RAP;
- Meet all of the requirements of the job; and
- Meet the eligibility criteria as described under FSWEP.
In order for a student to be re-employed into an FSWEP position, the student must ensure that they have an active application in the current FSWEP inventory.
Citizenship
While non-Canadians may apply to RAP, preference is given to Canadian citizens. A Canadian citizen is a person who possesses Canadian citizenship by birth or through the naturalization process under the Canadian Citizenship Act.
